T’s & C’s

OK. here’s the boring (but important) bit:

Payments and Deposits:

When you choose us to make your wedding cake we ask you to pay a 25% deposit, which is non-refundable. This, apart from securing the date, enables us to start on any sugar decorations, purchase any special items needed or, in the case of our traditional fruitcake, start baking! The final balance, plus any set up and delivery charge is payable 4 weeks before the day of your wedding.

Cupcakes and cookies must be paid for in full at the time of booking due to the shorter lead-time. This payment is non-refundable.

How to pay:

We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or cheque and will send you an invoice by email.

Minimum Order Value:

Our minimum order value is £300.

Cancellations/Refunds:

If you have to cancel your order up to 4 weeks before your wedding, we reserve the right to retain the 25% deposit. For cancellations between 4 weeks and 1 week before the day we reserve the right to retain 75% of the total order value. If cancelled within the week of the wedding the total balance is payable (minus delivery charge if applicable).

Cancellation must be notified to us here at Sticky Fingers Cake Co in writing, (either by email or letter), and will take effect from the date we receive it (a confirmation email will be sent to you).

If your wedding is postponed to a later date we will try to move your booking as long as we have the new date free. If not this will be treated as a cancellation.

If, due to any unforeseen circumstance, we have to cancel your order, you will of course be refunded any payments you’ve made, in full.

Design and Alterations:

After your consultation we’ll send you the design and quotation for your cake; it is your responsibility to read through and check all the details fully. Should you require any changes to the design, (even the smallest of details), please let us know before paying your deposit so that we can update the design and send you a revised quotation if necessary.

The design is binding once your deposit is paid and any subsequent alterations will incur a charge.

Delivery:

We offer personal delivery and set-up of your cake as part of our wedding service, however we can only carry out a limited number of deliveries on any particular day so advanced booking is highly recommended especially during peak wedding season (May-Sept). Orders and deliveries are taken on a first come first served basis.

Collection:

If you choose to collect your wedding cake from us we will provide you with assembly and storage instructions where required and your cakes will be packed in sturdy boxes to assist transportation.

We will ask you to check your cake before we box it and sign your collection receipt. Please note that once collected from us you accept full responsibility for your cake, Sticky Fingers Cake Co will not be liable for any damage to your cake once it has left our premises.

If your cake is highly decorated we strongly advise that you allow us to deliver and set up at your venue.

Fresh Flowers and Inedible Items:

If you decide to have fresh flowers on your cake please be aware that not all flowers are suitable due to their toxicity, your florist can advise you and Sticky Fingers Cake Co will not be liable for any contamination to your wedding cake that may arise from the misuse of fresh flowers.

The decoration on your wedding cake may include inedible items such as brooches, ribbon, feathers, diamantes etc and MUST BE REMOVED from the cake before it is served. These items will be highlighted on the delivery sheet for the caterers and Sticky Fingers Cake Co won’t be held responsible for any inedible items left on the cake once served.

Hiring Cake Stands:

When you hire a cake stand from us it is up to you to arrange to return the stand to us undamaged within a week of your wedding. You may forego your deposit if this condition is not met.

We may under exceptional circumstances consider a later return subject to negotiation.

For deposit charges, please refer to the Cake Stands region of our ‘Your Cakey Guide’ page.
